front cover. this was one of those generic notebooks with a lady's face on it and i tried working with her but had to cover up the lady. i outlined the word raw in drawing because i kept listening to shimmy shimmy ya

november 12 - december 2, 2025

this five dollar notebook didn't hold graphite well. the pencil smudged so i had to ink everything that i wanted to stay. sometimes i resolve a drawing too fast with a hard outline. i tried to find ways to draw that take more time in this notebook, that are open ended for longer, and make more interesting use of positive/negative space. also got more into putting the date on my drawings.

viv my muse. its easy to keep drawing comics of the people in my life who react positively to being drawn.

i read the words sacred geometry and i got attatched to the idea of familiar shapes holding power. i think i've held myself back a lot in drawing by trying to avoid familiar forms, but its essential and inevitable. and its beautiful to retrace other people's steps.

still getting used to the scale of the notebook

while i was drawing this sleeping guy on the subway home the old guy next to him saw what i was doing and looked me in the eyes and smiled so crinkly. this microconnection brought me so much joy even tho im not thrilled w the drawing in particular

i drew two comics about this manager while she was training and then she no-call no-showed away and i'll never see her again. it's funny cuz i first drew her as a warthog character but then i was like maybe she'll see it one day? so i changed to a nice dog lady. but she will surely never see it.

its not her fault she said that cuz i made her say it. also second drawing unrelated to first

i usually draw ppl from life super one off but this time i kept trying to get the geometry of the room which made it harder but also more interesting

there it is folks. less pages but more stuff happening on them. its weird trying to get better and trying to try harder its weird how it stays the same but changes too. i dunno. i want to take it seriously but retain the sense of exploration that i hold so dear. what do U think of this round? let me know. or just go home
